HipHop will teach us if we listen. There are many examples of health related lessons in hiphop from Easy-E to Pimp C to Eminem and to ASAP Yams. The "STD's Social Media and HipHop" lecture series has visited many campuses on the east coast and the south such as Tennessee State University, Fisk University, Morgan State University and Clark Atlanta University, just to name a few. Our college campus and high school lecture series has been popular and very impactful in showing the link between popular culture, social media and hiphop. HipHop music can teach us stories of success and caution. We can grow from both.
